Christmas, 2025: (below) A large seasonal pot-luck dinner gathering was enjoyed by dozens of Orchard House lessees and tenants on Saturday, December 5. The larger NeighbourSpace, relocated to the convention centre on Douglas Street, made a lovely nearby and wide-open party room, so thanks to the City for its no-charge use.
Summer, 2025: (below) The fourth annual Orchard House summer potluck picnic was held in adjacent South Park on Sunday, July 13, where a picnic table was burdened with a great selection of ethnic foods and snacks. Veteran lessees welcomed new Orchard House residents.
Christmas 2024 (below): A lively crowd of 25 Orchard House lessees and tenants gathered to share food, drink and to sing at our second Christmas-season event held at the nearby city-sponsored NeighbourSpace rooms.
Summer, 2024 (below): Two dozen lessees and tenants gathered for the third annual Orchard House picnic potluck dinner event in South Park on Sunday on July 14. Thanks for the good food and new friendships!
April 2024 (below): Memories of several recently-deceased Orchard House residents were shared during a social event hosted by Sally and Dale of #1605. We’ll miss Chantelle (short, round, delightful) and Dave (retired, ‘used a voice-generating device), and other recently-departed neighbours who came to mind for the more than 20 who attended or dropped by.
Christmas 2023 (below): Orchard House lessees and tenants enjoyed a Christmas potluck dinner event at the City-sponsored NeighbourSpace in the Crystal Garden building on 10 December. There was a lot of good food, conversation, door prizes and even a few carols sung.
Summer 2023 (below): Lessees and some rental tenants gathered next door in South Park for a summer potluck picnic on 16 July.
